Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
Handled ("we", "our", or "the app") helps families manage tasks, events, and email in one place. This policy describes what data we collect and how we use it.
Data We Collect
- Account information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and display name.
- Email content: If you connect Gmail, we process emails you choose to sync to extract tasks and events. We do not store raw email content; only the extracted tasks and events are saved.
- Tasks and events: Extracted tasks and events are stored in our database and associated with your account.
How We Use Your Data
We use your data to:
- Provide the app's core features (task management, event calendar, email processing)
- Authenticate you and manage your account
- Improve the app and fix issues
Third-Party Services
- Google / Firebase: We use Firebase for authentication (Google Sign-In). Google's privacy policy applies to sign-in data.
- AWS: Our backend runs on Amazon Web Services. Your data (tasks, events) is stored in AWS (DynamoDB) in the US.
Data Security
We use HTTPS for all data in transit. Data at rest is stored in AWS with standard security measures.
Data Retention and Deletion
You can delete your account and all associated data from within the app (Settings → Account). This removes your tasks, events, and account record.
Children
Handled is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email.
